Well… the Overlords seemed a little disorganized at the beginning of the match. Several key Overlords were missing Sunday and replacements had to be found. Fortunately, the Overlords were able to double up on some clan leaders to fill the match.

This disorganization continued right into the first match. The Cirque D’Geezers (CDG) came out with guns a blazing in Mulit-Flag on Valhalla. The quickly jumped to 2-0 lead and the Overlords were stunned! The Overlords seemed to get their act together and were able to defend from that point forward. CDG continued to be relentless in their pursuit of the final flag (9 total flag grabs in the game) for victory, but were stymied by the defense of the Overlords. But, unable to mount any significant offense the Overlords lost the first game 2-0. The CDG team was lead by RoVino who had 33 kills and 19 assists.

Game 1 Details

Going into game 2 down 1 already the Overlords were in desperate need of a win on Avalanche. Neutral Assault started with the usual crazy scramble for the bomb, the Overlords came quickly with an initial bomb plant and were only 1 second away from a successful detonation, but were foiled by the defense of CDG. After a few minutes of swapping back and forth Canis Firebrand from 8-Bit Brigade helped the Overlords to make a second successful bomb plant and detonation! The defense of the Overlords kept the CDG team from getting near the bomb plant location and achieved victory 1-0.

Game 2 Details

Now tied 1-1, the game/map changed to Slayer on Standoff. The Overlords now confident that they could win this final game and claim victory with the tremendous laser duo of Namloco SBG and BSG Surgeon in the game, combined with the Hog team of TTL Xerxdeej and TruthPastor SBG, but much to the Overlords surprise, CDG came away with the laser on the initial rush and the Overlord warthog was a smoldering mess for the first half of the game. It was the CDG warthog team that was running roughshod over the Overlords. The CDG team was taking the Overlords to task grabbing the first respawn of the laser. This was not what the Overlords expected! But on the second respawn of the laser the Overlords grabbed it and quickly took the lead and never looked back. Final score 100-79. Mad Bloke and RoVino combined for 34 points in the losing effort by CDG, while BSG Surgeon and Namloco SBG combined for 45 kills in victory!

Game 3 Details

Final record Overlords win 2-1 against a very worthy opponent! The Overlords now prepare for their September meeting against the tremendously talent clan members of Saved By Grace (SBG) Gaming!
